Artist of many trade, Mayillah leads her career on several levels as a makeup artist/hairstylist, creative director and writer. Her attention to detail and fresh approach to beauty has made her a sought-after collaborator for brands and publications

she creates work that speaks to her heritage, Her latest project, published in NUVO Magazine, featured some of Canada’s brightest Black artists and creatives in a portrait and interview series centred around connection and celebration. this editorial project later turned into an exhibition at never apart. In every creative endeavour, an important part of Mayillah’s work is driven by her distinct lens on intersectionality framed around an understanding of people (community), art and beauty
